In 1920, the independent film companies started to appear as small businesses began trying to make their own films. One such company in the American Southwest decided to make a film based on its screenwriter's decades-long time spent among the Plains Indians, telling the story of two suitors for the heart of a Kiowa chieftain's daughter and the consequences of their rivalry. Featuring a cast of comprised completely of Native American actors during the silent film era and lost for nearly 90 years, does The Daughter of Dawn deserve its second life?
