In the mid-1970s, independent filmmaker George Lucas pitched an ambitious film to several movie studios: an homage to the sci-fi and swashbuckling serials of his childhood called The Star Wars. When 20th Century Fox took a chance and gave Lucas a $10 million budget to make the movie, no one expected the film would launch a worldwide fandom, a merchandising empire, and a film franchise of six "episodes" - soon to be seven. But is the Force still with the 1977 film (in its original format) or should it be sent to the trash compactor on the detention level? MovieDude Eric, Kent, Jonolobster, and special guest Lauren of Legends of SHIELD Podcast make the jump to lightspeed in a live event to find out.
