The Man in the Yellow Suit

Where to start. I'm a huge Flash fan. Have been my whole life. I love the nods this show gives to the comic and yet not fully follow it. If you've read 6 issue series the Return of Barry Allen you can see where they got a lot of the inspiration for the show. Barry and Reverse Flash did fight in the living room where His mom was killed. And Barry did save himself. Also Eddie is that incarnation of the Reverse Flash. It all has to do with the balance of the Speed Force. Also in that comic it is reviled Barry is the reason he became the Flash. He was the Lightning bolt that struck himself.

ahhhh, that's time travel crossovers and paradoxes that makes even the biggest of Dr Who fan's head spin :o

it does make sense....I've not read a Flash comic in about 20 years though......

Lol it's a comic paradox. It's more wibbly wobbly than and Doctor Who show.

If you want to see messed up Flash stuff there is a comic 3 parter with Jay Gerrick (Golden Age Flash), Barry Allen and at the then time Kid Flash Wally West. In this they are taking on Grodd. Well in order to beat him Barry ran through the other two Flashes taking on attributes of their costumes and absorbing some of their speed force. Yes a Cisco super sonic Punch.

That stuff never changed!! I still remember his murder trial pre-Crisis when he stopped Zoom from killing his to be second wife at the altar....such a strange turn for the character, but considering his fate and hero's exit in the Crisis, it made sense that they had to play out the string in his series until then, I was amazed he stayed dead as long as he did (and then more shocked when they brought him back, since he was the one true "comic book dead" that stuck)

Now and then when I have time I'll go into a Barnes and Noble and just soak up graphic novels since no one bothers or rushes you out.....I may have to do that soon, though I get every animated movie DC puts out.....Flashpoint was one of the better ones by far!

I'm psyched to see how Grodd plays into the second half of the season!

Good thing I got my GF into Dr Who before this, just so we can call it Timey-Whimey and watch her head spin when this all unfolds :D

Yeah I was shocked they brought him back too. The first comic I remember getting was an issue of Superman, featuring him and the Flash racing.

I was 5 when the Crisis happened. So I didn't read it then. But when I did as a grown up I was upset at his death. It might have gotten a bit dusty in the room. I knew that the Flash had changed mantles to Wally as I collected comics still here and there and all the collector cards. But to actually see the way he sacrificed himself was amazing. They always had the back door way to bring him back but I never thought they would. I have seen many incarnations of the Flash in many alternate Universes in the DC universe. And all of them can't compare to Barry for some reason. They just got it right with him.

I have seen a lot of the DC animated movies need to see some more soon. I do agree with Flashpoint being amazing. I will watch more but I struggle with any animated where Kevin Conroy isn't Batman.

DAMN YOU YOUNG PEOPLE!!!!! (ok I'm done now!!!)....I did get a kick out of Wally having to eat to maintain his speed...that was funny to me

I do remember rooting hard for the Flash when I was getting back issues from the 70s (those and GL/GA....my God....sooo ahead of its time)

The only DC Animated ones I struggled through was the Doomsday one (that was amazingly awful)....and the Batman/Mr Freeze one....everything else has been awesome and a great catch up without wasting the day at Barnes and Noble....I'd love to see an animated version of the Crisis....oh that would be SOOOO good.....

It's not my fault I was born in the decade of synthesizers and weird shit.

The Batman/Mr. Freeze one wasn't nearly as bad as the Mystery of the Batwoman one. which Doomsday one are you referring to the Superman only Doomsday or the Justice League one?

I too enjoyed the Wally eating aspect. Although this was introduced after he became the scarlet speedster.

I would love to see a Crisis as
Well but omg the need to not fuck it up. (Pardon my language.) If they take it panel by panel and make it 3 movies it would be better. They can't cram or cut things.

I've read some GL as well. I do admire Hal. The originator of the DC silver age. Gots to give props where they are due. As for GA I've read some. And would love to get my hand on the story arch of Speedy's drug addiction.

If you get the chance and haven't already read Kingdom Come. It's the most amazing story ever. I won't spoil it if you haven't read it but wow.

I feel the same way when people look me and you "holy shit you're 42?!?!?!?" and before they can call me old I'll remind them that they're gonna wish they look this good in their 40s ;)

I don't think I remember the Batwoman one....there was only one Superman/Doomsday DVD, its a shame I was soooo disappointed by it

Yeah a Crisis could be awesome and it could be how they incorporate all the movies (since you can say each was their own parallell Earth)....heh

I think Speedy's drug issues were during the classic GL/GA team-up wayyy back when

ummmmm, I think I read it....or some of it....right now I have no jobs today (gets a lil cold and people stop caring about their computers) I'll probably peek into B&N after the gym.....

I totally go the looking younger than you are. I was a few days shy of Turing 34 and has my face clean shaved. I went to buy some alcohol and didn't have photo ID, they didn't sell me the booze. So apparently I look younger than 19.

The Batwoman movie was just a hey we just brought Batwoman back to the comics but here is the same character that looks different and has a different origin and guess what it's 3 people. So yeah wowzzers. Superman Doomsday wow what a let down. They so could have done it perfect. Make it two parts like the Dark Knight Returns. So had potential.

If the shows and movies are leading up to Crisis would be awesome. Even though they stated they aren't it would be a huge surprise. If they do this Green lantern should be TV. They already feature Ferris in both Arrow and Flash.

I'm looking forward to Atom finally arriving. Not a big Firestorm fan. Although they did some cool things in the comic making him and Elemental like Swamp Thing. It will be interesting to see if they do the Lazarus pit or if they come up with some other thing.

With Arrow getting a 4th season I'd say the Lazarus Pit is a lock :) ....just a matter of what it does to Oliver and how he comes back.....

Yeah I'm kinda happy I never saw this Batwoman :o

My poor GF had never seen Superman Returns (which Kevin Spacey was AMAZING in mind you).....I kept going holy crap the Atom is the Gay Superman?!?!?!?! (with small nod to Brnadon Roth's epic but tiny role in Zach and Miri Make a Porno....talk about characters from other shows and movies eh??).....I soon fixed that, but I love his Superman-presense carrying over to being Ray Palmer!
