The mid-1990s saw the emergence of the Tarantino Babies, a number of films that were released hoping to capture the essence of Pulp Fiction. One such film, written by actor-turned-screenwriter Jon Favreau and directed by Doug Liman, was Swingers. A comedy about a twenty-something Los Angeles newcomer and struggling actor and his cadre of seemingly hip buddies, Swingers was a hit and launched the careers of Vince Vaughn and Ron Livingston. It also helped propel Favreau and Liman into the director's chair for some big-budget action franchises down the road. But does the film double down and earn the money, or is this a party that's dead on arrival? MovieDude Eric, Kent and Jonolobster head to Vegas, baby, Vegas to investigate.
