Marvel's Daredevil on Netflix episode "Into The Ring" [6:58]

Since this was at least the second time through the series for all of the Legends Of S.H.I.E.L.D. hosts we all wholeheartedly agreed that it just gets better with each viewing. And the more you look into it, like Keir has had a chance to, the more you get to take from it. The episode does stand out even more by not mainlining it and watching it all on its own. The viewer has the chance to watch it and absorb it all.

Marvel continues to bat 1000 with the interconnectivity in Daredevil with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic and Television Universe as well as being such a great true representation of the Daredevil character and comics.

The Flashbacks or "Time Jumps" as Keir calls them were very well executed. And the crew pontificates if Daredevil will continue the Flashbacks into the second season.

The fight scenes were perhaps the most captivating hand to hand combat ever on the small screen and continues to amazing these very seasoned content viewers. And the hosts discuss who would win fights in the Marvel universe to include Daredevil, Black Widow, Agent Melinda May, Mockingbird, and Grat Ward.

The Daredevil score by John Paesano is stunning as well.

Everyone is so excited to see the rest of the series episode by episode

Hi, how is your marathon going? I started out slowly, so here are only what I thought about the Pilot episode.

Daredevil Thots

Episode 1:

From first scene it portrays the serious tone of the series and child actors did a fine job. Murdoch, especially how he played without glasses was impressive.

Since I haven't watched final True Blood series I was very happy to see Deborah Ann Woll again. When she was captured by the police I half expected her to cry blood instead of tears.

For the first episode the mature rating nearly only stemmed from the graphic and carefully crafted fighting and violence, besides the little tease from Karen Page changing out of her wet shirt. Cinematography especially memorable were the lighting at Murdoch's loft and in the rainy hand-to-hand. Nice touch how they use sound what helps out Murdoch during action pieces or hearing Karen's heartbeat when he questions her.

Foggy reminded me a bit of Charlie/Hurley mixed together. What was that Kreel vs. Murdoch poster in the gym about? Was that the stuff absorbing character in Agent's of Shield Season 2 beginning?

Abound the villains I can't say much, besides Voldemort's secretary appears to me as quiet and not very threatening. But those can be the most dangerous.

OK Marvelites, after my call-in rant a few weeks ago re: "Why we should all give Ant-Man / Hank Pym some respect", I noticed today that the nice folks over at Comixology have put the "Avengers: Trial of Yellowjacket" collection on sale for $24.99. http://bit.ly/1LYqfNe

Image

This is the definitive Avengers arc detailing of how Hank Pym fell from Avengers charter member to disgraced pariah in the eyes of a lot of the Marvel Universe. It collects Avengers #212-230 which started in October of 1981, and is a truly epic arc. Aside from the Hank Pym storyline, you get adventures in space with Drax and Moondragon, a few issues with my personal favourite Black Knight, and the awesome Monica Rambeau (Captain Marvel!!) joining the Avengers. I can't say enough about this arc, as it has a lot of underlying nuance that was missing in the early 80's when most of the Marvel hype was focused on the X-Men.

The print copies of this volume tend to go for around $75 if you can find them (I think I still have them in long-boxes somewhere!).

So, if you've every wanted to go back into the history of the Avengers and get a feeling for some of the key events that shaped the team we know today, or just wanted to understand the history of the fall of Henry Pym, then this is the arc for you. It's cheesy at times, and heart wrenching at others.

Good luck and happy reading!

Excelcior! :)
Formerly Amberite, but probably not Nellie or Nelson. I'd probably answer to either tho.
